Need a Pharmacy Near King's Cross, St Pancras or Euston? How Emergency Supply Works
If you have forgotten or run out of regular medicine on a trip through Euston, St Pancras or King's Cross, you do not need to go without it. A short online consultation with a UK-based clinician can arrange an emergency supply, a short-term supply of up to 28 days, for collection from a pharmacy close to the station.
This is aimed at travellers: people catching a train who realise their medicine is in the bag that just went missing, people arriving in London by Eurostar without their usual repeat prescription, and anyone changing trains who simply forgot to pack it before leaving home.
Why travellers run short on medicine near Euston
Euston, St Pancras and King's Cross sit close together and handle a large amount of UK and international travel, including Eurostar services. Medicine gets left behind in a rush, luggage goes missing, trains get delayed, and journeys run longer than planned. It happens to UK residents and to international visitors alike, and it is rarely convenient to sort out from a station platform.
How an Emergency Supply consultation works
Emergency Supply is for a medicine you have been prescribed before and have now run out of. It is open to UK and non-UK residents and to visitors, so it does not matter whether you live in London, elsewhere in the UK, or abroad.
The online consultation takes about 3 to 5 minutes and can be completed on a phone, so it is possible to start it while waiting for a train. The consultation fee depends on the pharmacy you collect from: for the partner pharmacies near Euston it starts at £25, and it's shown before you pay, plus £5 for each extra medicine in the same request. The medicine itself is paid for separately at the partner pharmacy. You pay the consultation fee when you submit your request, and if the clinical team cannot approve it, you get a full refund.
A photo of your previous prescription, or of the medicine's box or packaging with the label, or a hospital letter, helps the clinician review your request. Any language is fine, which matters if your prescription or packaging is not in English.
Pharmacinta is a CQC-registered online prescribing service. A UK prescriber, either a GP or a pharmacist prescriber, reviews each consultation and decides whether it is appropriate to issue a prescription. Schedule 2 and 3 controlled drugs are not supplied under this service. Some Schedule 4 and 5 and other high-risk medicines may be supplied, at the clinical judgement of our clinicians.
Partner pharmacies near Euston and St Pancras
Two partner pharmacies sit close to Euston station. Green Light Pharmacy Euston is at 62-64 Hampstead Road, NW1 2NU. Green Light Pharmacy Mornington Crescent is at 275 Eversholt Street, NW1 1BA. Both Hampstead Road and Eversholt Street run alongside Euston station, so either pharmacy is within easy walking distance of the main entrances.
Both are also a reasonable walk from St Pancras and from King's Cross, which makes them a practical choice if you are changing trains or arriving by Eurostar and need your medicine before heading on elsewhere.
Eurostar and King's Cross connections
If you are travelling through St Pancras on Eurostar, or changing at King's Cross, the same two Euston-area pharmacies are worth knowing about. You can complete the online consultation before your journey, during a delay, or once you have arrived, and collect once your prescriber has made a decision.
Before you travel, it is worth having a few things ready: a note of the medicine's name and dose if you know it, and a photo of your previous prescription or the medicine's box or a hospital letter, saved on your phone.
What the Emergency Supply service cannot do
Emergency Supply is not a way around the normal rules for prescription medications, and it is not a guarantee. Some medications can't be supplied this way at all. The clinician decides whether it is appropriate to issue a prescription, based on your individual case. If your medicine falls into an excluded category, the consultation fee is refunded in full.
FAQs
Can I get an emergency supply the same day I arrive at Euston? It depends on your medicine, your history and the pharmacy's opening hours. Once the clinical team approves a request, the prescription goes to your chosen pharmacy electronically and they contact you when it is ready. Nothing is guaranteed in advance.
Does this work for Eurostar passengers arriving at St Pancras? Yes. Travellers arriving at or leaving from St Pancras can use the same partner pharmacies near Euston.
What if I do not have a photo of my old prescription? A photo of the medicine's box or packaging, or a hospital letter, helps too, in any language. It is not compulsory, but it makes the clinician's review easier.
